Don’t panic, I’ve not got married, it’s more a reflection on the day I’ve had umpiring cricket.
I didn’t feel all that well this morning and had a banging headache that was reluctant to go away despite taking a paracetamol. I started the game with the headache still persisting and then my stomach started to play up as well. I genuinely felt pretty grim for about 30 minutes.
I thought “Do I come off or battle on?”. I decided to carry on and then as if my magic, I started to feel a bit better. I’m not sure why I felt the way I did. Maybe I was slightly dehydrated and that had some effect. The team were concerned and my concentration was starting to wane. But I then completed the game without further mishap and it was a decent day at the office, both cricket wise and my own performance. I didn’t have a great amount to do, in all honesty, but I enjoyed the game and appeared to be in quiet control.
So all’s well that ends well. The enjoyable season continues. I hope I can last the season and I can put it down as one of my better ones in recent years. Taking it week to week and I’m happy being around the cricket club and I hope they’re happy with me too.
