Back to the real world perspective….

Monday nights in winter occasionally see yours truly tutor the next lot of budding cricket umpires.

It was our first night back after the holidays and I was itching to get started. After the last four or five days I’ve just had, tonight came as a real tonic.

Telling it as it is. Real world perspective. No sugar coating, just stuff from the deep well of experience and hopefully, knowledge. And people seemed to be taking in what we were telling them. We did a little test to get the grey matter going again. And the results were very good.

Just what I needed. It’s been close to hell the last four or five days. But tonight proved that I am good at something, even if it’s standing there and talking to people. The comfort zone has returned. I need to be good at something to ward off the wolves from the door.

Happier and more contented tonight. More to come tomorrow. Watch this space.
