Free and easy Friday…

And it’s the 13th as well. No bad luck so far, and I wish it to stay that way.Had a very early night last night and it was much needed. That day of umpiring on Tuesday has taken more out of me than I originally thought. Still feel quite drained, mentally and physically, today. But I will pop up to the cricket club later on as the cricket week draws to a close. The weather is nice once again today, and it’s a shame to waste it. The dream I had last night may indicate thoughts of a little weekend break at the end of the cricket season in September. The dream consisted of lying on a quiet beach with the sun beating down and the gentle ebb and flow of the tide. It won’t be quite that glamorous in reality, but I’ll try and pick somewhere decent for a few days away to recharge and refresh. Got to be aware of the perils of burnout and to take it a little easier. Though I enjoy the activities that I do, I’ve got to look after my well being. I don’t want another crash like last weekend. Today isn’t the best, but it’s not on the level of last Saturday. Got a couple of cricket scoring commitments this weekend, including a very big match on Sunday that is one of the more important games the club will have played in the 22 years I’ve been involved. Looking forward to making a trip into the unknown on Sunday, and hoping for an error free afternoon, as always. That’s all for now.A.S.D Brooks
