Superb day….

Some days are good, some bad, some average. But today can be marked down as superb from my point of view.Met up with my old school colleague from 30 years ago. He lives in a wonderful, tranquil and picturesque part of Kent, and I loved the peaceful atmosphere and easy paced way of life.We had a decent lunch and a few drinks and chatted away about mental health, our lives, school days and sport. Plenty to talk about and it was really heart warming to meet up with someone after a 30 year hiatus. I hope there’ll be many more meet ups as we got on very well indeed. I certainly wouldn’t mind visiting that part of the world again, it really made an impression on me.The local railway station was like something out of the Railway Children, with those village halts and country atmosphere before Dr. Richard Beeching did his worst in the 1960s. Sadly the train back into London was as slow as the 1960s steam trains as it made a pedestrian meander back into Victoria. Then it was onto some very hot and stuffy tube trains in the middle of rush hour. Deep joy. And I did see a rare thing – two spots of rain. That was it. Blink and you missed it. Certainly a day today that has made me feel extremely good. Here’s to many more this amazing summer of 2018.A.S.D Brooks
