Evening all. What a glorious day this has been. Refreshing and relaxing to be by the beach today. It does make you grateful for what we have around us; the air that we breathe, the ebb and flow of the tide, the crash of the waves on the shore. Simply brilliant.
But of course, every parade has to have a little rain on a day like this. And who better to provide that rain than our gloriously inept railways. Delays galore coming back into London. Repetitive announcements solemnly intoning of delays to “your services this evening” and those empty apologies that mean absolutely nothing at all.
Still I’m not going to allow that to spoil a very good and relaxing day. Just checking on the weather forecast for the next ten days and it’s more of the same:- Sunny, Hot and Dry. I didn’t think I would see another classic summer in my lifetime after 42 years ago, but this could well be. Though the breezy, comfortable warmth that I enjoyed today would suit me from now until September.
And just to confirm how nice it’s been, here’s a photo:-
England at it’s best.
