Though the weather has been pretty decent this summer, there could be something pretty spectacular next week. Heatwave conditions. Temperatures in the high 80s or low 90s Fahrenheit across the UK. It’s looking reasonably certain, though I’ll add the caveat that forecasting great weather like this carries some risk. It could all go wrong!
In some of my weather posts, I’ve been alluding to the great summer of 1976. That summer had heat, drought and sunshine for months on end. I just wonder whether 2018 will follow. It’s the first week of the Wimbledon tennis next week and the on court conditions for players and spectators will be pretty taxing. Saying that, it’s better than sheltering from the rain!
So, I’m really looking forward to the first real blast of summer heat next week. Can’t be bad!
