Non cricketing Saturday….

Afternoon. Weather good here in London. Warm and humid and quite sunny. A perfect day to be involved in cricket. But not today.

The team I did the scoring for last week are playing a long way from home today. There weren’t enough transport to fetch and carry me there, so it’s a day indoors today. Not that I’m complaining. I think the system of letting people know I’m available a few days before the game may be a winner. Instead of me saying “I’ll be around for most of the season” and then becoming unwell and letting people down, if I’m around to perform duties, then I’ll inform the requisite people.

It really doesn’t bother me today that I’ve missed out. It’s a long old drive to the game and I made it clear to the captain that if there’s very little transport, then I’ll leave it. There’s always a home game next week, so it isn’t the end of the world.

How am I feeling? Not too bad. After not sleeping very well early in the week, I’ve been turning in early the last couple of nights and that seems to have worked. Sleeping much better and feeling reasonable. Not ecstatic, but fair.

Could be better, could be worse…..
