Potting the reds…

As I’ve no doubt mentioned before, I’ve been suffering from the occasional dizzy spell recently. I had to have blood tests last week and the results were back to the doctor.

So I went to see him today. Still been suffering from the occasional dizzy spell. He brought the results up on the computer screen and informed me that my red blood cell count was higher than normal.

I told him that I spent three days in hospital early in 2011, with possible polythycaemia, which is a medical term for high amount of red blood cells. The doctor enquired about this and thought this would be a good avenue to explore as to why I get these dizzy spells. He will write to the haematologist at the hospital who dealt with me to see if I have to be in any way concerned.

So maybe that is an answer to the dizziness. We shall see. Asking about something that happened seven years ago could be the clue, but I somehow I doubt it. Leave it to the professionals….
