I’ve just booked myself a few days away next month, just to refresh and recharge some fairly flat mental and physical batteries.
I’ve decided to go to Bruges in Belgium. I’ve heard from friends of mine that it’s an excellent place to go for a mini break, so on that advice, I’ve taken the plunge and decided to go for it.
I’ve been to Brussels before now, but Brussels is a bit like London, lots of character but too many tall buildings and you feel somewhat hemmed in. Bruges is a little more rustic, with a river and a market and lots of nice places to visit.
Why have I done this? Well, living in London has equal amounts of pros and cons, and a change of scenery will do me some good. I enjoy train travel too, go going on the Eurostar will be a great experience. I hope the weather picks up as well, but that’s something I can’t control. I’m so looking forward to living out of a suitcase for three nights. It also proves I can grasp the nettle on occasions and do something positive on a hunch.
Lovely isn’t it?
