In this quite turbulent and unsettling week, I had a nice letter that dropped through the letterbox yesterday.
Some months ago, I went on a train journey that was delayed due to the train breaking down. My journey home was extended by over an hour, so I decided to complain to the train operating company for the delay.
I didn’t hear anymore about it, and I thought it had been put in the pending file, i.e. the bin. Yesterday, a letter arrived to say that I’ve been refunded a grand total of £15.60 off any future journey I undertake with said company. The reason for the delay in payment was due to another company taking over the running of the services.
To be honest, I’d forgotten about it. So, when I feel a little better, I shall put the refund to good use. I like travelling around when I feel ok, so that’s something to keep in mind. I’m not one to complain to companies about inferior services, but in fact it can pay to speak up about shoddy work and poor timekeeping. So some months later, £15.60 will come in handy.
