Ten O’Clock News…

Morning. The pluperfect winter’s day. Very cold, bright and clear. Good to be out of doors.

What’s been happening? Well, it was the Monday night Umpire training yesterday. I have to say, it was an evening I enjoyed. Not that I contributed much. I blended into the background as my colleague ran the show. And it was extremely well done, with lots of instruction, laughter and practical demonstrations.

How was I? Ok as it goes. I even felt confident enough to field questions from the new people about paperwork, though anything out of my sphere I left to my erstwhile colleagues.

What was I saying about a new month proving to be a fresh start? It may just be psychosomatic, but the new month has brought a slightly better me, and I’m back this week doing things I enjoy. Today, for example, I’m off to do some volunteering, after missing last week.

All the ingredients are there for a good day today. Nice weather, being with good people and doing something I enjoy. The light at the end of the tunnel is there, after a dark previous 31 days of January.
